Compare & Contrast
Addison-Morgan has over 15 years of experience in the production of
plantation shutters and custom shutters. In that time, we have learned how
to design and produce a wood shutter that will outlast its warranty and
provide lasting beauty for as long as you own your home.
In designing and constructing our window shutters, we started by identifying
what every customer is interested in. These interests are as follows:
- A customer wishes to know what it is they are purchasing before
they purchase it.
- Every customer wishes to receive their product when they want
it and in a condition in which it was presented to them during the sales
process.
- A customer wishes their product to be long lasting.
To satisfy item #1, we have developed a sales and manufacturing process
unique to our company. We are the only firm to provide you with a detailed
rendering of each of your wood shutters all the way down to pinpointing
the quantity of louvers within each panel coupled with CNC milling which
produces your plantation shutters to these dimensions as measured in thousands
of an inch.
To
satisfy item #2, we have assembled a shutter manufacturing process focused
on quality. All of our wood materials for our plantation shutters are molded
and milled in our location by our exacting standards. Our manufacturing
machinery uses scoring saws, climb cuts, PLC and CNC controllers...all with
the purpose to provide exacting cuts. In addition, we are unique in our
management of our people, no piece rate, no volume bonuses.. each of our
shutters are hand assembled, sanded and finished by members of our firm
who are paid hourly, not based on speed. It is a difficult challenge to
preach quality, if at the end of the week you only pay for speed.
To
satisfy item #3 we have selected only the finest in materials and processes.
For instance, our plantation shutters are fabricated from solid (non-fingerjointed)
hardwoods, they are assembled using tongue and groove joints (fig A), fastened
by screws and glued. Finally, our wood shutters are finished with a baked-on
acrylic enamel (fig B) to ensure a long lasting, durable finish.
